Emmanuel, God With Us

Classic Christmas hymns ring out with timeless melodies, reflections, and worship. These hymns have been cherished for centuries, sang by carolers young and old, in homes, churches, and gatherings.

What Child Is This (William Chatterton Dix. 1865) and other beloved carols such as The First Noel (one of my favorites) originated as early as the 16th or 17th century (The First Noel. Carols Ancient and Modern.1823. Edited by William Sandys). These sacred tunes began being passed down from one generation to another, across countries and cultures. To this day, we embrace each one as we lift our voices in praise and adoration unto our Lord and Savior.

O Come, O Come, Emmanuel is another beautiful lyric and contains one of the names of God, Emmanuel, which means, "God with us" (Matthew 1:23). This powerful song holds fast to the celebration of the omnipotent, omnipresent nature of God. Oh, what power and splendor these hymns of praise contain! May we continually lift up a praise of exuberant joy and noble reverence year after year.
