He Knew
I don't believe any one of us can fully fathom the life of Jesus. The song, "He Knew" came to be while I was pondering questions that often come to our minds, some spoken while some only remain as somber thoughts. "What if He knew? What if He saw? What if He knew the pain He'd face to give it all?" These questions slowly dance across the staff which eventually are answered with the bold response, "From the cradle to the cross, He knew!"
As the composition grew, I came to a moment of needed impact. The crossing point lingered at the start of what would become the bridge. While pausing with one hand on piano keys and the other holding a pen to paper, my husband, Jeremy, one of our daughters, Josie, and our son-in-law, Austin, began building one thought at a time. Nearly as a call and response, one line was connected to the next until the road across was complete. We pray as "He Knew" travels, it reaches many hearts with the touching truth that it carries.
