Main Street Cafe & Coffee, a Sweet Find

Coffee and Jesus, and cute lil' red trucks! That is the theme at Main Street Cafe & Coffee, a sweet find. From Bible verses on the walls and Christian radio playing tastefully in the background, to the lovely aromas of coffee and scrumptious food choices, this cafe is brewing more than just java. The atmosphere alone is a reason to stop and take a seat. Even the tables had fun surprises, such as classic red trucks as center pieces. The nostalgic twist caught my eye with each glance; wreaths on the doors welcoming the Christmas season, a rustic sunflower picture, Hallmark-like classic decor, scriptures as 'the writing on the wall', an upright piano (calling my name, if only it were playable, to tickle the ivories for a bit), and to top, a pristinely staged boutique sharing the space for convenient shopping.
We have been eying this coffee shop for quite some time. Due to their Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 2:30pm hours, we had to purpose to plan or grab an opportunity. Having a Friday off, the first thing we decided was to do just that -- hit the road and go on a coffee date!
We never get bored of these dates as we relish in 'adventuring' and trying new places, especially sweet cafes like this. This cafe being faith-based made it extra sweet! It is nice coming across, what we call, Kingdom Connections.
Our encounter with the friendly staff, including Manager Brenda Mays, was as pleasant as the beautifully restored bank-building and vast food and drink choices, including gluten free and sugar free options. Our lunch consisted of a fresh chicken salad croissant, as-cozy-as-home taco soup, and a perfectly crisped and cheesy quesadilla with a made-from-scratch chipotle sauce. Fresh, homemade, and served with a smile. Just right!
Perhaps the overall experience and care that is clearly put into this business by owners, Dale and Lisa Moore and the excellent management, is what offsets the hours. Directly from their hearts, they prize on community and high standards, as they "locally source every ingredient possible, from farm fresh eggs, and local raw honey, to their partnership with local roasters from The Muse Coffee Company." The Moores, "value high quality ingredients and work with Boar's Head Delicatessen, to serve meats and cheeses with no fillers, gluten, by-products, or preservatives." Considering they have been open since 2007, fans of this charming cafe make the effort to embrace the opportunity to go when the doors are open; we left glad that we did.
To end this refreshing coffee date, we were surprised with a dreamy slice of Orange Marmalade Cake to share. Precious -- and -- Yum! What a nice pairing with our warm, frothy, Caramel Cappuccino... Double YUM... Christmas meets the tropics! That was my first thought. The fun, bright burst of citrus mixed with just the right amount of sweetness was like a visit to a tropical shore with a surprise snow shower. Simply perfect. Thank you, Chef Brenda Mays! Thank you Moores and all of MSCC!

For us, a couple who enjoys cooking and creating on a regular basis, including playing barista in our own little home-cafe, we were very happy with our visit to Main Street Cafe and Coffee. It truly was a sweet find!
May joy arise from the song you sing,
as great as the depths of the gratitude from which it sounds.
