"She loved Zinnias, they were her favorite flowers."

After excitingly sharing about our zinnia-filled garden that began with a random pack of wild-flower seeds, I could barely believe it when my mother told me that my great-grandmother's favorite flowers were zinnias. I've held this special lady close to my heart and have had several 'very real' dreams about her, so my newfound excitement for zinnias coupled with this knew knowledge about my great grandmother. Being my great grandmother's nickname was Zetty, it made perfect sense to think of these flowers as, Zetty's Zinnias! Too, it quickly became a name to use for various product creations. She was, and still is, an inspiration in my life.

In several difficult and confusing times, I had dreams about my great grandmother, Zetty, that brought me great peace. The more I pondered these dreams, I recalled that it was peace that I experienced when spending time with her. From the wonderful times spent with her and Papaw at their homeplace in Bland, VA, to times spent once they moved to be closer to my grandparents (their son and daughter-in-law) in their older years.

It's the simple things. I recall cornbread and buttermilk as a tasty snack or part of a meal, and to this day, I still like it. And, as odd as this sounds, I remember left over biscuits and gravy just sitting out, and it not being a big deal to grab a bite, even if it had gotten cold.

Long walks in acres of green hills and mountain paths, discovering honey suckle as sweet treasure, berry picking while eating more than you gather, and camping glisten in my mind like gold dust among these treasured memories.

These memories may not seem like much to some, but to me they are priceless and become more valuable by the day.

It was Mamaw's kindness and calm spirit that resonates most. We would sit and talk for hours. Being that I was a young, silly girl, I'm sure I did most of the talking. Still, she listened and engaged. I never felt like I was being a bother and I knew she sincerely listened. She was truly a 'great' grandmother and a very special friend.

One particular dream, felt more like an encounter than a usual dream. At the end of the dream, Mamaw was standing before me with a radiant smile, holding a gift, dressed up more than I had ever seen her, an upright, straight posture taking the place of a once rounded feeble back. With heaven-like eyes and a beaming smile, she extended to me a large pink gift bag overflowing with bright, beautiful flowers! We embraced and I kept saying, "Finally! Finally!" When I woke up, I still had tears flowing and was literally shaking from crying grateful tears, saying, "Finally!" This was certainly an immense celebratory moment, as if she was saying, "Congratulations!"

I knew this dream was notably significant; quite a special message from Heaven, signifying an end to a horrible cycle I had been experiencing in life. Such peace came through that embrace, filled with relief. A heaviness lifted that took with it much sorrow and dark frustration and replaced it with joy, victory, and peace, overflowing like the gift of bright, beautiful flowers. This stood true as after a period of time learning to truly lean into the Lord's strength, wisdom, and comfort, I met my precious husband, and we began our life and ministry together. A gift I could have never imagined awoke within me what I had nearly let pass away, blossoming lasting color in every season.

While tending to our colorful, vast varieties of zinnias, the idea came to me, Zetty's Zinnias! "I love it!" I thought. Just like Mamaw Zetty, zinnias bring joy, and a special sense of contentment as each one, amazingly unique, stands bright like a welcoming surprise, bringing a special message or a special gift.

We have added another flower garden filled with zinnias and sunflowers. Each day, we embrace their cheerful displays and look forward to tending to them season after season.

The zeal experienced in this encounter brought a new sense of strength and faith ready to bloom in any trying circumstance. This was also the inspiration for our new collection of products, Zetty's Zinnias. Our hope is that these products inspire that same strength and faith, blooming with great joy! Several things to come are in the works, and some items have already been added, in the Coalesce Ministries Shop.

Be sure to check back often as we grow!
