One of our hobbies is cooking. We find that cooking outside, such as on our flat grill, is especially fun. Plating 'picture-pretty' is just as enjoyable, which is why we have a great time when we make homemade Copycat 'McGriddles'. This is so easy that I won't even put it into true 'recipe form', but instead will just share the basics.
What You Need:
Pancake Mix (prepare per instructions for however many servings you desire, using about a quarter less liquid)
Melted Butter (about 2 tbs)
Maple Syrup (about 2 tbs)
1 1/2 tsp of Vanilla
Cinnamon (about a tbs)
Sandwich fillings of choice - Sausage, Egg, Cheese (Cheddar or American)
A Hot Pan or Flat Grill
What to Do:
Mix pancake batter of your choice with water as directed, slightly thicker than usual.
Add melted butter and vanilla.
Stir in a tbs of cinnamon (optional or amount to your preference).
Stir in 2 tbs of real maple syrup (Don't use fake stuff!).
Carefully pour batter into a circular form such as an egg ring or cookie cutter onto a preheated cooking surface. (We use egg rings.)
Watch the round cakes until they begin to bubble on top and are ready to flip.
The outcome should result in adorable little delicious cakes you can fill with whatever goodness you'd like to create your own Copycat 'McGriddle'.
